Hazel K. Steele's Obituary
Hazel Steele passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born December 24, 1920 in Iaeger, WV to the late John L. and Louise Bailey Kennedy.
Mrs. Steele had a long career as a school teacher and retired from Culpeper County schools in 1990.
Hazel married the late Pierce Steele in Wyoming County, WV in 1940. From their union they had three children, Doyle, Micah and Carolyn; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and fifteen great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy and Archie Kennedy.
In addition to her parents and husband of 56 years, Hazel was preceded in death by six brothers, Jerry, Robert, Oscar, Ray, Roy and John Jr.; and one sister, Patricia Ann.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Bruce Fincham officiating. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
