Hazel, Iam truely going to miss you. You were not just a good neighbor but a good freind as well...... As I got to know you, I truely thought of you as family...I was so happy to be there for you when you needed help before you had to go to the nursing home in fredericksburg.....The only comfort I got was knowing that you would be next to your family who would be looking out for you and makeing sure the nursing home was treating you right...You truely were blessed to have a family who loved and cared for you.... Larry, Marlene and Kathy who were there for you from day one...I know you loved them dearly.....You would tell me many times you don't know what you would have done without them and felt so blessed to have them In your life and that you always thought of them as your own children being that you had no children of your own......I know you are in heaven now and having a wonderful time.......Rest in peace my friend and know that I will keep your memories in my heart forever.....Jan Gall JjGan Gallahan

Dear Aunt Hazel,
Hurricane Hazel will live forever in my heart and memories. I will miss your wry sense of humor, your love of children and playfulness, your appreciation of beauty in nature and in art. I remember taking you to the doctor in Hampton and while we were waiting for our appointment, you looked out the glass window and commented on the beauty of a tree in full autumn glory. Even with only one functional eye, you were always looking for beauty around you. I never heard you complain about your eye, and rarely you complained about aches and pains. You were always "medium rare" when asked how you were doing.
I always enjoyed visiting your home and seeing how you had decorated for the holidays or the seasons. In your apartment, you constructed a fireplace with a mantel that you decorated- flowers in the summer, Christmas stockings in the winter. Your paintings and ceramics , stuffed pillows on the sofa, decorated family pictures, crocheted toilet paper covers with doll heads are all a part of the joy you took in creating and beautifying your surroundings.
I will miss you Aunt Hazel.

Dear Aunt Hazel,

To one of my most cherished and beloved aunts whom I will miss more than you know. You were an integral part of my formative years as a child, always with a smile, a joke, a tasty Southern meal or treat, a fun arts and crafts project. You took my sister Kathy and me out to Woolworth's for a frosty Coca-Cola and to our first grown-up movie ("Marnie"); you gave me my first and only Barbie doll. I still have and cherish the Thanksgiving turkey platter you made and the blinking ceramic Christmas tree that my mom passed to me. I loved your humor the best. You were self-deprecating, witty, and wiser than you ever gave yourself credit for. I'm sorry I could not be with you more in your later years but always thought of you. Love you forever,

Aunt Hazel,
It has been a pleasure to have known you and been a part of your life. Will always remember you coming to our wedding and Apartment and visiting you in Hampton. It was also a pleasure to have you join us on our Vacation to Myrtle Beach with my Mom. We shared alot of good times together and alot of hard times during the last 3 months. We will always remember and cherish what you shared and taught us. We shared joy and sadness in your passing (joy to know you are out of suffering) ( sadness in you not being here with us any longer to care for). Our time will not be the same but your memories will have to fill our void. At least we can say we did our all for you and like it says in 2nd Timothy you have kept the faith and fought a good fight and now it's time to depart. We understand but our family will truly miss and love you always.
