Hazel Louise Jenkins' Obituary
Hazel Louise McGhee Jenkins, daughter of the late Hugh H. and Mary Ernestine McGhee died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Dogwood Village of Orange at the age of 89. Louise was born January 24, 1922 in Tatum, VA.
Louise was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church. She was a caretaker for many people, was a wonderful cook and worked as a seamstress at Aileen, Inc.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Jenkins Corbin and her husband, Robert Lee Corbin, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and Mary Lou B. Jenkins of VA, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Kenneth McGhee and his wife, Virginia of Madison, Lacy McGhee of Nokesville and Ray Dudley and his wife, Polly of PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John B. Baldwin, one grandchild, one great grandchild, two sisters, Eleanor M. Painter and Doris M.D. O’Connor, one brother, Earl McGhee, and her long time companion and soul mate, Harry W. Heflin who faithfully visited her every evening as long as his health allowed.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Farrar officiating. A two hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wanda McGhee, Gary McGhee, Kevin McGhee, Hugh McGhee, Bernard Glenn, Dennis Corbin, Terry Corbin and Brian Corbin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
