Hazel Marie Broyles' Obituary
Hazel Marie Broyles, 102, of Rixeyville, VA passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Our Father’s House Christian Home. She was born October 13, 1921 in Culpeper to the late James Albert Compton and Ethel Yancey Compton.
Hazel was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Reva, VA. She was also a founding member of Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department Auxilary.
Hazel is survived by her children, Constance “Connie” Ann Barber (Richard), and Charles “Chuck” Allen Broyles (Alice); grandchildren, Casey Barber Gibson (Justin), Becki Broyles Riddle (Jeff), and Christopher Barber; great-grandchildren; Hailey, Morgan, and Bryce Gibson; nephews, James “Jim” Marshall (Helen Sue), James “Billy” Compton (Ann), and Paul Compton (Phoebe); niece, Donna Hitt (Robert); and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Broyles; grandson, Zachary James Broyles; brother, James Alvin Compton; and sister-in-law, Laura Compton.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper.
Interment will follow at Robinson River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 4627 Lillards Ford Road, Brightwood, VA 22715.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hazel’s name to Our Father’s House Christian Home, 15261 Jubilee Rd, Culpeper, VA.
