Harry Robert Lister's Obituary
Harry Robert Lister, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully August 21, 2012, at Hughes Home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Timbrook Lister and his brother Donald Lister. His survivors include his son Dennis Lister and wife Susan of Fredericksburg; his grandson Andrew Lister, wife Jennifer, and their daughters Allysyn, Katelyn, and Shaylyn of South Bend, Indiana; two granddaughters of Fredericksburg, Claire Ellinger, husband Kenneth, and their son Benjamin, and Robyn Lister and her daughter Caroline. He is also survived by his sister Frances Kendall, brother William Lister, both of Edinburgh, sister-in-law Shirley Lister of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, brother-in-law David Timbrook and wife Judy of Pittsboro, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lister was a lifelong resident of the Columbus and Edinburgh areas. He was a World War II veteran, volunteering for the U.S. Marine Corps after Pearl Harbor and serving in the First Marine Division on Guadalcanal and the New Britain-Cape Gloucester campaign. He worked mostly in Columbus and retired as an electrician in 1985.
Mr. Lister was a member of St. George Lutheran Church, Edinburgh, where there will be a public memorial service Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Before the service the family will receive guests at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The interment will be private.
