Harriett Beckham Carter's Obituary
On July 1, 1955, God planted a flower on Earth named Harriett Beckham (Roy) Carter and on August 11, 2015, He plucked that beautiful flower to add to His bouquet.
Harriett was a member of Grace Baptist Church for many years then she moved on to Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Va. She was also affiliated with Grace Baptist Community Church in Madison, Va. She attended the Culpeper County School System. She was employed with Continental Teves in Culpeper, Va. for more than 17 years and moved on to self-employment with her own cleaning business.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 25 years, Larry Carter; two daughters, Wendy V. Allen and Brenda L. Washington; five sons, Curtis C. Minor, Benny K. Minor Jr., Ricky Minor, John R. Minor, and David A. Minor; 21 grandchildren; five brothers, George “Pumpkin” Roy, Arthur “Bug” Roy (Brenda), Michael Roy, Willie Roy, and Herbert Roy (Ruthann); two aunts, Dorothy Williams and Lillian Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lenwood Brown and Mary Frances Roy Brown; a grandson, Courtland “Man” Nobles; a brother, Robert Roy; and her first husband, Benny K. Minor, Sr.
There will be a memorial homegoing service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road in Fredericksburg.
