Harold Bradley Thomas' Obituary
Harold Bradley Thomas, 81, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Harold was a retired iron worker in the construction industry and a longtime member of union Local No. 5. He spent his retirement years both volunteering his skills and working part time for the Highway Assembly of God church, which he helped to build. His passions in life were his time spent with the church and his fierce love of his family.
Harold leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Thelma Thomas; three children, Harold Lee Thomas and his wife, Becky, of Nokesville, Kevin Thomas and his wife, Sheryl, of Richmond, and Sheree Hughes and her husband, Ron, of Fredericksburg; and six grandchildren, Dawn, Valerie, Christopher, Stacy, Cindy and William. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna, Alyssa, Charlie, Caroline and Ava; four siblings, Lillian, Jean, Don and Joann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Harold's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Highway Assembly of God church, 2221 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Dick Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Stafford Memorial Park, 154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harold's name to the Highway Assembly of God church.
