Harold E. Curtis' Obituary
Harold Esby Curtis, known to his friends as Rock, 78 of Culpeper, Virginia died on February 15, 2014 with family at his side. He was born to the late James Esby and Ida Bettis Curtis on October 23, 1935 in Stafford, Virginia.
Mr. Curtis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his time with family. Mr. Curtis was a life long Tractor Trailer driver and finished his career with Venezia hauling flour for Cargill. One of his most proud achievements was being a recipient of the Million Mile award for his outstanding driving record.
He is survived by his two sons Charles “Jr.” Perryman and his wife, Tabitha, and John “Joey” Perryman and his wife, Karen; four grandchildren, Brittany Nichole and Karah Anne Perryman, Lauren Nicol Atkins and Seth Andrew Ramsdell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Serene V. Curtis, by four siblings, Hazel M. Raines, James E. Curtis, Virginia I. Curtis and William H. Curtis.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 3 to 4 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia.
Interment will be private and will take place at Hillcrest Memory Gardens on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 with Reverend Sandy Martin officiating.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff for all of their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Nursing and Clinician Education Fund at Culpeper Regional Hospital, 501 Sunset Lane, Culpeper, VA 22701.
