Harald Havstad, Jr.'s Obituary
Harald Havstad, Jr., 75, of Sperryville died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 29, 1941 in Long Island, NY to the late Harald and Gladys Sigwald Havstad.
Mr. Havstad was a lifelong stamp collector and was a member of a stamp club in Warrenton. He loved nature, was an avid animal protection supporter, a weather enthusiast and sci-fi lover.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn Havstad Gasteazoro and her husband, Eduardo of Amissville, and Sharon Katzenstein and her husband, Richard of Stillwater, NJ; and four grandchildren, Ryan Sicovitch of Andover, NJ, Keely Katzenstein of Stillwater, NJ, Alex Gasteazoro of Amissville, and Francesca Yowell and her husband, Trevor of Manassas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah “Sally” Havstad; and one brother, Peter Havstad.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
