Gwendolyn K "Dee Dee" Goolsby's Obituary
Gwendolyn K “Dee Dee” Goolsby, 64, of Rixeyville died Monday, February 26, 2018 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born October 7, 1953 in Alexandria, VA to the late Rufus and Katherine Payne Marcus.
Mrs. Goolsby was an auxiliary member of Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and an avid animal lover.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Danny S. Goolsby; two sons, Daniel Stephen Goolsby and his wife, Patsy of Charlottesville, and Donald Marcus Goolsby and his girlfriend, Stacy of Culpeper; three siblings, Daisy M. Jones of GA, Marsha Beaman and her husband, Gary of Chantilly, and Ronnie Marcus and his wife, Faye of Shenandoah; and four grandchildren, Bradley Wayde Goolsby and Marcus Tyler Goolsby, both of Madison, and Brandon Stephen Goolsby and Christian Ian Goolsby, both of Charlottesville.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Ludwell Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
A time of fellowship will immediately follow the burial at the Culpeper American Legion Post 330, 14222 Rixeyville Rd., Culpeper, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, 1240 Lee St., Charlottesville, VA 22903.
