Gwendolyn Delores Bryant's Obituary
Gwendolyn Delores Bryant, 61, affectionately known as Kitten, of Culpeper, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 7, 1961 in Culpeper to Frances Lacy and the late Rev. Robert Powell Lacy.
Gwendolyn was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She graduated from Culpeper County High School in 1979. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Brandy Station, where she was baptized. Growing up with three brothers, Gwendolyn was often given a “hard time” by her overprotective brothers.
She loved listening to music, singing, and having a good time. Gwendolyn enjoyed watching television shows such as American Idol, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, and Law & Order. She was a diehard Cowboys fan, as well.
Gwendolyn is survived by her mother, Frances Lacy; one brother, Glenn Lacy (Colette); five aunts, Shirley Robinson, Barbara Jean Brown, Elizabeth Davis, Mary Jane Cottoms, and Constance Gaskins; one uncle, Arthur Brown, Jr. (Elizabeth); two nieces, Janeice Lacy and Stacee Lacy; three nephews, Jonathan Lacy (Nichole), Cory Lacy and Timothy Lacy, Jr.; three very close friends, Kelvin Johnson, Tasia Paige, and Petal Granville; and a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Bryant; two brothers, Michael Lacy and Timothy Lacy; three uncles, Richard Robinson, Sr., Thomas Gaskins, and William Cottoms; and three aunts, Dorthey Smith (James R Smith, Jr.), Alice Turner (Robert Turner), and Edith Menefee.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Reese Washington officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Memory Gardens, Springs Rd, Jeffersonton, VA.
