Granville Hugh Smith's Obituary
Granville Hugh Smith, 75, of Reva, died Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 21, 1949, in Rappahannock County, Virginia to the late Benjamin Franklin Smith and Mary Catherine Jenkins Smith.
Granville was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country in Vietnam. Granville retired from Cargill, Inc. after thirty-four years of service. He enjoyed his retirement, tinkering around the house, bush hogging, tractor pulls, and riding around on his tractors. He loved pulling his antique tractor in the local pulls.
Granville is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Brenda Backe Smith; siblings Vivian Frances Smith, Linda Smith Seale (Allen), Timothy Smith (Vickie), and sister-in-law, Joan Backe Smith. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Granville is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Ann Smith Hutcherson (Bill), William “Billy” Smith, Roger Smith (Betty), and Benjamin “Frank” Smith (Debbie).
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:45 am until 11:45 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
A graveside service and interment will follow at 12:00 pm at Culpeper National Cemetery, New Section, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, Virginia with Pastor Adam Meisberger officiating.
Military honors will be provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
