Grace Wagner was more of a mom to me than my own mother ever was. She will always be in my prayers and thoughts and heart. My daughters were so lucky to have someone like Grannie as a part of their lives.
You will be greatly missed by us all
Many years ago, Grace took time to listen to me grieve over my brother who had died in a car accident a few years before. At the time, her son was dating my best friend and that was how we all wound up at her house near Christmas of 1978. I ate my first goose at her dinner table, and cried my bitter tears on her couch later that evening. She was sweet and comforting to me, even though she had never met me before that night. I don't even remember how the subject of my brother came up, but she had words that helped me when I really needed it. She was a kind woman, and one who will be sweetly remembered.
