Gloria Marjorie Turner's Obituary
Gloria Marjorie Turner, 78, of Jeffersonton passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center. She was born September 24, 1940 to the late Creed and Ada Jameson Dennis.
Mrs. Turner was born in Culpeper and resided on Sperryville Pike until graduating from George Washington Carver Regional High School. Her marriage to husband James W. Turner, Jr. lasted 57 years until his death in 2015. She was a loving mother and selfless wife who supported and raised her family over multiple relocations throughout the North East. Mrs. Turner was an accomplished seamstress, sewing matching outfits for her 3 daughters, creating enviable gardens at every stop and was the master of her kitchen.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ellen Turner, Georgette Turner Fontaine (Keith Dennis), and Lisa Dawn Turner, all of Culpeper; three siblings, Doris Dennis of Scrabble, William Dennis (Dianne) of Tampa, FL, and Mary Melinda (Ali Azadi) of Bowie, MD; and four grandchildren, Zachary James Turner of Culpeper, Kiele Turner of Culpeper, Glorianna Giallombardo of Blacksburg, and Mackenzie Scott of Culpeper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Turner; and three siblings, Creed Dennis, Jr., Julie Dennis and Alfred Dennis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Minister Angela Dennis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
