DJ and I hadn't heard of your mama's passing and we are so sorry we missed being there for you during this time. Gloria was an amazing lady, wonderful friend to David before he passed and always gave the best advice to DJ and I before we got married. I always remember we have to send photos with Christmas cards for her fridge. If there is anything we can help with, please let us know.

I am so sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. She was a kind, wonderful woman and I enjoyed seeing her every year at Mine Road Homecoming. The flower arrangements she made for my Uncle Randall every year for the cemetary were beautiful. I will always remember her fondly.

I knew Gloria back in the early 1980's while working at Gallahan's Furniture off Lafayette Blvd. She was a wonderful person and friend to all.. I knew her love for all her flowers and I loved riding by her yard on the way to my Mom's out at Lake Anna. I have thought of her often with a smile - because she always brought smiles to others. Debbie & Family- Our hearts ache & our Thoughts & Prayers are with you all. We are so Thankful that God shared Gloria with us - Gloria was "One of a Kind" A true Blessing to all who knew her, beautiful inside & out, always there to help someone & had a story to share! We will miss her dearly esp Iris- Gloria & Iris had such a Special Friendship - they would talk at least 2 times every day - checking on each other, sharing memories, tears, laughter & who knows what else! What a Blessing to have a friend like that! We all Loved riding by her house seeing her working in the yard and looking over to see what was blooming & what yard ornament she had added! I am so sorry for your loss. Gloria used to come into the Thrift store I worked in. I loved seeing her every week and talking and joking with her! She always gave me a big hug on her way out . She was a ray of sunshine!

This Saturday morning, I lazily fixed myself a cup of coffee, retrieved the paper out of my box, came back in, and was ‘struck’ by a bolt of lightening from the blue!! I couldn’t believe that one of my dear friends & former co-workers had passed away!! It was a distressing beginning to my day. Of course, I would have liked to attend her celebration of life, but the last paragraph mentioned that everything is private. So, I wish alternatively to convey my deepest condolences to Debbie, Gary, & her family.
I had the privilege of working with Gloria from 1998 to 2009, when she ‘worked her magic’ while helping so many other families get thru their own losses & grief. She was a ‘natural’ at this! Also, Spotsylvania County had the unrivaled benefit of her decades-long service to it’s school & judicial systems..
Meanwhile, I’m glad that she is now able to re-join Howard & her mom.
I can only remember one time when Gloria was upset. Some years ago somebody stole her geese from out of her front yard, and of course, she filed a report; but not to be dismayed, she got some more geese & said she was going to fill them with concrete so they’d be too heavy to pick up!!
