Glenna Hersman's Obituary
Glenna English Hersman, 75, of Spotsylvania died on August 10, 2006 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Glenna was born in Falmouth to the late Glender M. and Alice B. English.
She started her career as a nurse at the old Mary Washington Hospital on Sophia Street moving to the Fall Hill address at a later date and then worked for Dr. Earl R. Ware. Glenna retired as an LPN; she worked for the DC government for 30 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenda L. Payne and her husband Stacy of Spotsylvania, Lynn Paige Bentz and her husband J. Alan of Lexington Park, Maryland, and Linda H. Hitchcock and her husband John of Alexandria; two sons, Michael W. Greene of Fredericksburg and Danny Dittmann of Stafford, five sisters; Christine E. Spicer of Fredericksburg, Ruby E. McGee of Newport News, Yvonne E. Holsclaw of Manassas, Permelia E. Thomas of Fairview Beach and Jackie E. DeBernard of King George; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Glenna was preceded in death by a brother, Alton L. English and sister, Kathryn E. Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
