Glenn L. Williams' Obituary
Glenn “Buck” Williams, 97, of Alexandria, died on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Hermitage Health Care Center in Alexandria, VA. He was born on December 26, 1912 in Castleton, VA to the late Virgil and Agnes Cannon Williams.
He leaves behind his wife of 72 years, Anna Byrd Cannon Williams, his son, Glenn L. Williams, Jr. of Arlington, VA, his sister-in-law, Mary H. Williams of Flint Hill, VA and three nephews, Thomas V. Williams, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Flint Hill, VA, George Edward Williams and his wife, Karen of Flint Hill, VA and Michael Williams and his wife, Margaret of Amissville, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas V. Williams and George S. Williams.
Mr. Williams lived in Front Royal for a number of years where he was employed by the American Viscose Plant. From there he moved to Flint Hill, VA where he farmed for 9 years. Eventually he moved to Alexandria, VA where he worked for the United States Postal Service in Old Town Alexandria for 20 years before retiring.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville, Pike Culpeper, VA 22701.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Williams name to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 1604 Spring Hill Rd. Ste. 450, Vienna, VA 22182
