Glenn "Sammy" Hoffman's Obituary
Glenn “Sammy” Hoffman, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2016 surrounded by his family. Sammy was born on November 27, 1938 to the late John W. and Mable C. Hoffman of Culpeper.
Sammy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Cherry Street/Smoot & Son of Culpeper as a painter. His family was very important to him and he loved them dearly. He also had a special place in his heart for his four legged friend “Foxy”.
Sammy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marsha G. Hoffman; and their children, Wanda Griffin, Anthony G. Hoffman and his wife, Doneen, Patty Fincham and her husband, Don, Steven V. Hoffman and his wife, Donna; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Mark, Chris, Crystal, Brittany, Cassie, Jeffery, Amber and Taylor; and 11 great grandchildren, Macie, Zachary, Preston, Deklan, Jacob, Hunter, Austin, Jude, Sophia, Tucker, Heath, and one on the way.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Alice R. Gore; his siblings, G.T. Hoffman, Ann Hitt, Lillie Mae Early, Dottie Orrison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky and Doug Hoffman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Atkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Anthony Hoffman and Steve Hoffman; and his grandchildren, Mark Hoffman, Chris Hoffman, Jeffery Griffin and Tom Hinnefeld.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asks that you make donations to Faith Baptist Church, 20337 Tucked Away Lane, Lignum, VA 22727.
