Glenda Theresa Cree's Obituary
Glenda T. Cree, 88, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven at Mary Washington Hospital on July 5, 2022 with family by her side.
Glenda was born on June 10, 1934 in Hogansburg, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mae White. She attended St. Regis Mohawk School and Bombay High School.
On April 25, 1953, she married Richard William Cree Sr. at St. Regis Catholic Church. Glenda and “Dick” were blessed to have five children and a loving marriage of 46 years. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1999.
Glenda retired as a member of a Communications Workers of America local 2201.
She was the heart and soul of her family. She gave the best heartfelt advice and was a great story teller. Her sense of humor was subtle but always on time. She raised a strong tight knit family and her wisdom and love will live on through them. She will be greatly missed.
Glenda is survived by her children, Donna Russell (Mark), Carolyn Boyd (Dennis), Janet Cree (Tom) and Brian Cree; her grandchildren Derek Cook, Jamie Shingler (Paul), and Dallas Boyd (Rachael); her great grandchildren, Alexis Cook (Jake), Dylan Cook, Aiden Shingler, Owen Shingler, Flora Boyd , Finnegan Boyd; and one great great-grandson Jake Van Vactor Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Cree Jr.; her sisters Joan White, Hazel Thomas, Margaret Maracle, and Arlene White; and her brothers Larry White and Richard White.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 1009 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 starting at 10:30 a.m.
An internment will follow the funeral service at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle.
