Gladys Brown Highlander's Obituary
Gladys Brown Highlander, 84, of Culpeper died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center following a short illness. She was born January 4, 1923 in Salem, VA to the late Marvin Aylor Brown and Goldie Magdalene Broyles Brown.
Mrs. Highlander was a life long resident of Culpeper. She worked as an accountant for the Rappahannock Electric Coop. for 46 later retiring in 1989. She loved being with her family and friends and taking care of her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna H. Rosson and her husband, Charles M. “Sonny” of Culpeper, her sister, Mary Ann Carder and her husband, Robert, her sister-in-law, Mary Brown, nieces, nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1989, Donald Macon Highlander, her son, Robert Macon Highlander who passed away in 1974, and two brothers, John Albert and Silas Keith Brown.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Culpeper County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 731, Culpeper, VA 22701.
