Gladys Shelkett's Obituary
Gladys P. Shelkett, 93, of Spotsylvania County passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Greenfield Senior Living of Stafford.
She was born to the late Harrison P. and Sally Phillippe.
Gladys retired from the Federal Government at Andrews Air Force Base. She was a member Rehoboth United Methodist Church and in her younger days was an avid bowler.
Gladys is survived by two sisters, Verna Lacy and Virginia Clarke, both of Spotsylvania; two brothers, Herman Phillippe of Spotsylvania and Clifton Phillippe of Millersville, MD; six grandchildren, Mason E. Perry, Jr. and Michael E. Perry, both of Partlow, Kevin M. Perry of Ladysmith, Karen P. Sloop of Rocky Mount, NC, Donna P. Breeden and Tracy A. Perry, both of Spotsylvania; six great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws and caregivers, Earlene E. Perry of Partlow; and Jane S. Perry of Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Manuel Perry and Ralph Shelkett and two sons, Mason E. Perry Sr. and Donald J. Perry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 am at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Partlow with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
