Gilbert Lee Harris' Obituary
Gilbert Lee Harris, 64, of Spotsylvania, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in his home.
Gilbert was born and raised in the Todds Tavern area of Spotsylvania. He graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1977. Shortly after high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Special Forces division as a Green Beret.
After his military service he was a self-employed brick mason for many years. Gilbert loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and gardener. He was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Harris.
He is survived by his father George, his partner Karen McKay, his sister Laurie Lenny (Terry and Chris), children Rachael Petersen, Lee Harris, Emily Scott, and Joshua Harris, and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 11007 W Catharpin Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia 22551. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
