Gilbert Stewart Counts' Obituary
Gilbert Stewart Counts, 81, of Manassas, passed away at his home on April 30, 2010.
He was born in Brentsville, VA on April 13, 1929 to the late Troy Counts and Minnie Keys Counts. He was the owner and operator of Counts Construction, the former owner of the Brentsville Superette and had worked for 14 years with the Columbia Gas Company. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Alice Baker Counts; two children, Sandra Jean Counts, Faynelle Counts Right and husband Kirk; sister, Catherine Counts Corner; four grandchildren, Artie Right, Jeremy Clark, Gilbert Mauck and Gretchen Becknell; three great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Howard Counts; sister, Hazel Worsham; grandson, Christopher Allen Mauck.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM on Tuesday, May 4th at the Found & Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Rd. Manassas, VA 20109. Funeral services will be 2 PM on Thursday, May 6th at the Brentsville Presbyterian Church. Burial will immediately follow at the family cemetery in Brentsville.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
