Gertrude Ethel Krane's Obituary
Gertrude “Trudy” Ethel Krane, 86, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. Born to the late Rebecca and Max Tuchman, Trudy lived a life defined by kindness, intelligence, and love for her family.
Trudy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Coleman Herman Krane, and together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, travel, athletics, friendly competition and joy. Trudy had a gentle spirit and a bright, witty personality. She loved dogs, music, dancing, and anything sweet, and she was well-known for her incredible card-shuffling skills and her competitive streak during family games.
A remarkably intelligent woman, Trudy touched countless lives throughout her career as a high school math teacher and school counselor. She guided and encouraged many young adults with compassion, humor, and wisdom.
Trudy is survived by her devoted husband, Coleman Krane; and her sister, Francis Barbara Krane. Trudy leaves behind her grandchildren: Trey (Molly), Randi (Colin), Emily (Riley), and Joshua. As well as four great-grandchildren: Forrest, Sawyer, Everett, and Brooke, all of whom will carry on her legacy of love, laughter, and family tradition.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Julia Lynn Corliss and Cheryl Leigh Myers; her parents, Rebecca and Max Tuchman, and her brother-in-law, Marvin Krane. She is now reunited with loved ones who welcomed her home with open arms.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia, where her family will gather to honor her life and memory.
Trudy’s life was rich with joy, family gatherings, and moments that will be remembered and retold for generations. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who loved her.
