Gertie Marie May Jenkins' Obituary
Gertie Marie May Jenkins went home on Friday, July 24, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.
She was loved by many people and touched an abundance of hearts and lives. She cared for everyone she loved above and beyond what we could have ever asked for. She was a momma, nanny, sister, aunt, friend and a soul mate to the man of her dreams and father of her children, Otis.
She is survived by her children, Benny May and wife, Mryble, Ricky May and fiancé, Mary Liso and Anne Dyer and Bruce Brown whom she loved as a son and cherished as a caregiver, all of Culpeper, VA; her siblings, Peggy Bradley, Dickie Jenkins and his wife, Carol, Steve Jenkins, Tammy Pritt and her husband, Ralph, Timmy Jenkins, Sandra Jenkins and Patty Dodson and her husband, Rusty; and her best friend, Ruby Walker; and special friend, Tommy Jenkins.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Andy May, Robby Jenkins, Cory May, Brittany Finley, Dusty Jenkins, and Ethan May; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis Benton May, Sr.; her second husband, Robert L. “Bobby” Jenkins, Sr.; and her mother and father, Robert Henry Jenkins, Sr. and Louise Nettie Mae Jenkins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11 am at City Light Baptist Church, formerly known as Bible Baptist Church, 1121 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper VA with Pastor Bruce Fincham and Pastor Lee Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robby Jenkins, Dusty Jenkins, Ethan May, Josh Finley, Denny Brown, Bruce Brown, Whit Harrell and Ralph Pritt.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
