George Harold Buraker's Obituary
George H. Buraker, 89 of Culpeper died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mr. Buraker was born June 20, 1920 in Madison County to the late George William Buraker and Willie Estelle Thomas Buraker.
Mr. Buraker was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He retired from Rochester Corporation after 40+ years. He was a member of Culpeper Assembly of God.
George is survived by his three sons, Kenneth H. and his wife, Hallie of Reva, George S. and his wife, Linda of Culpeper and Larry E. and his wife, Margaret of Boston and three sisters, Virginia Andersen of Culpeper, Eva Abernethy of Bridgewater and Iva Deane Efird of Brightwood.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kenneth M. Buraker of Washington D.C., Darrick G. Buraker of Locust Grove, Brian S. Buraker of Culpeper, Noel L. and Brian J. Beck, both of Culpeper.
Mr. Buraker is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Myrtle Virginia Buraker, two brothers, William Graton Buraker and Ray McKinley Buraker and three sisters, Pauline Frances Buraker and Zelma Iris Buraker and Reda Blanche Lance.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September, 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Randy Albritton officiating. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery. Military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post #2524.
Pallbearers named are Roger Mitchell, Jerry Christensen, Russell Lane, Tony Tharpe, Noel Beck and James Peyton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Culpeper Assembly of God Church, 120 Chestnut Drive, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
