George F. Wright's Obituary
George F. Wright, 92, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was born on October 28, 1932, in New York City.
George graduated in 1954 from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY, and retired in 1996 from Brown Brothers Harriman, New York City, NY. In 1987, the Hofstra Board of Directors bestowed the Eastbrook Distinguished Service Award upon him, the university’s highest alumni achievement honor.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Ruth; four children; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He lived a long and full life marked by integrity, generosity, and a humble, quiet strength, which left a legacy of contribution in mentoring, encouragement, and guiding others that continues.
