George Stephen “Steve” Dodson
George Stephen “Steve” Dodson, 68, of Culpeper died Monday, June 29, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1946 in Charlottesville to the late Cleveland and Virginia Sims Dodson.
Mr. Dodson worked for the Department of Defense for over 28 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and died doing something he greatly loved, riding a horse. He was a member of the Virginia Gun Collectors Association and was active with the Culpeper County Young Farmers. He loved to hunt and weld and as a welder he always said he could weld anything but a broken heart but could mend that back together.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Ann Scott Dodson; one son, Stephen Otis Dodson of Culpeper; his beloved niece whom he raised as a daughter, Stacey Bayne and her husband, Richard, Jr. of Culpeper; one great niece he thought of as a granddaughter, Reagan Bayne; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Lee Dodson of Rivers, TN; and one brother-in-law, James Scott of Culpeper.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kevin Dawson officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
