George Clarence Stephenson's Obituary
George Clarence Stephenson of Sperryville, Va. went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2012. He was born May 23, 1928 in Bristol, TN to the late Samuel Edward Stephenson Sr. and Hazel Walters Stephenson
George was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of Shriners International, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Masonic Lodge of Knoxville, TN, and the Boy Scouts of America.
George is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Eva Lee Harbour Stephenson; one son George Charles (Chuck) Stephenson and his wife Cathy; one daughter Margaret (Peggy) Lee Stephenson Sabol and her husband Jeff; and 5 grandchildren Sam Stephenson, Ben Stephenson, Josh Sabol, Ethan Sabol and Ellen Sabol. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother, Dr. Samuel Stephenson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
