George Eugene Poulson
George Eugene Poulson, 97, of Culpeper died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born on August 16, 1915 in Bronx, New York to the late Frederick John and Rosabel Poulson.
Mr. Poulson was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the VFW Post 2524. He was an excellent award winning swimmer in high school and in the Navy. Mr. Poulson was a previous club champion in golf. All around “Jock” back in the day even into his sixties. Mr. Poulson was a good father with a great head on his shoulders.
He survived by his two sons George Poulson, Jr. and his wife, Hannah Brown of Clifton, VA and Freddy Poulson and his wife, Wendy of Salem, VA. , six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one brother-in-law, Claude Simms Breeden of Springfield, VA.
In addition to his parents George is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Alice Poulson in July of 2010 and his one brother and sister.
A graveside service will be held at 2p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Nancy Palmer officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 330 and the VFW Post 2524.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the VFW Post 2524 P.O. Box 550, Culpeper Virginia 22701
