George was born on March 21, 1935, in Upper Darby, PA, to the late Josephine and George Franklin Passmore, Sr. He is a Veteran of the USMC and served during the Korean conflict. He held great pride in his country. He was a successful businessman in real estate, insurance, and antiques, but his real joy was raising his three children on his cattle farm “Valhalla” by the lake in Orlean, VA. Though George held many titles, his favorite was “Grandpa”. He loved his family immensely and enjoyed having 4 Generations together at family gatherings. George was a member of Culpeper Presbyterian Church, where he and his wife Laura were active in the food kitchen program for families in need. He always lived by the motto “pay it forward if you are able” and instilled this practice throughout his family.
George is survived by his wife, Laura Seekman Passmore; two children, Traci Sue Passmore (Keith) and Dennis Franklin Passmore (Robyn); seven grandchildren, Tara (Jason), Crew, Brian (Michelle), Erika (Tyler), Lisa (Drew), Samantha (Jackson), and Melissa (Marcus); seventeen great-grandchildren, with two on the way; one sister, Doris Wandling; step daughter, Daphne Ryczko (David); step grandson, Jason Ryczko; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
