Mr. George and Mrs. Charlotte where my landlord for five years. They tested my children like their own grandchildren. Mr. George enjoyed seeing the smile on my son face everytime he drove his John Deer tractor. Mr. George called my daughter his " Jellybean." Mrs. Charlotte we are so sorry to have heard this news. Mr.George will be dearly missed by the "Alexander Family."
We have known George for 42 years. He was a wonderful friend, who did so much for us, often going above and beyond. He was always very generous with his time and energy and seemingly could not do enough for his friends. When Hurricane Isabel caused a lot of damage to our new retirement property in Mathews, VA, George immediately loaded up his RV and headed our way. He brought chains saws, food, coffee and generators. There were no hotels or power in the area but George made the RV available and he worked many days beside Wade to help clear the road from fallen trees. This is but one example of George’s selflessness. Over the years he shared his expertise and sweat to install fences, renovate houses, and renew gardens. It wasn’t all work, though. George knew how to have a good time for sure. In the Philippines the Knaus residence was frequently the party house. We had great times camping and cruising with George and Charlotte. George and Wade also shared a passion for fishing and hunting. We will miss George as well as his generous and joyful spirit. Joy And Wade Thompson

My acquaintance with George began in the early 1960's when we were assigned together overseas. Over the years our paths crossed numerous times. I recall him as always being a reliable coworker, cheerful and friendly toward everyone with whom he came in contact. My sincere condolences to all his family members.
