George William Hawkins' Obituary
George William Hawkins, 78, of Culpeper died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born August 5, 1941 in Charlottesville to Delsie McFarland Hawkins and the late Andrew Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Hawkins; one daughter, Wanda Lynn Hawkins of Culpeper; four siblings, Joyce H. Mills (Billy), Rev. Jimmie Hawkins (Christine), Larry Hawkins (Sandra), and Linda H. Rudd (Randy); two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Grigsby of Culpeper and Brittany Marie Hawkins of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include three great grandchildren, Zoe Grigsby, Bronston Grigsby and Bradley Grigsby; and nieces and nephews, Mike, Debra, Kathy, Susie, Andy, Warren, Curtis and Annette.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas William Hawkins; one aunt, Mildred Hawkins; and infant brother, Richard Hawkins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. with Rev. James Hawkins, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
