George Ellis Gibson's Obituary
George Ellis Gibson, 76, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away on June 3, 2022, with a childhood friend at his side. He was born on December 19, 1945, to the late Addie Bell Blankenbaker and Anthony Lyle Gibson of Culpeper.
Ellis enjoyed an accomplished life of farming and agriculture after graduating from Carver Regional High School in 1966. He had a great passion for drawing and design. He later married Barbara Ann Payne of Fluvanna, Virginia, on November 1, 1970, and went on to have one daughter and stepson. He remained self-employed as a landscaping contractor, enjoying a great outdoor lifestyle.
He is survived by his stepson, Jacques DeWhitt Payne of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Joyce Noelle Gibson, and two granddaughters, Joelle and Juliet of Queens, New York; as well as his close, childhood friend, Taye Griffin of Culpeper. Mr. Gibson is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Payne Gibson; and his long-time partner of 31 years, Frances Marie Clark.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. The family invites those unable to attend to watch via livestream at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1661275996203908
Interment will follow at Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery, 5002 Slate Mills Rd., Boston, VA 22713.
