George Andrew Fischer's Obituary
George Andrew Fischer, 86, of Culpeper died on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville surrounded by family and close friends. He was born on March 8, 1932 in Utica, NY to the late Lawrence and Agnes Schaffer Fischer.
Mr. Fischer retired from The CIA after 30 years of service. He served his country for three years by joining the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 330. He was a world traveler, enjoyed his class ic cars and loved cross word puzzles.
Mr. Fischer is survived by his children, David and his wife, Sharon of Culpeper, Loraine Gayheart of Richmond and Schelly Chaffin of Temecula, CA; five grandchildren; special friend, Betsy Carter; and his fur babies, Dolly and Molly, his rescued cats.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Magdalena “Maddy” Fischer; and brothers, Frank and Laurie Fischer.
Services will be private at Culpeper National Cemetery.
