George "Boogie" E. Smith Jr.'s Obituary
George Edward Smith Jr. "Boogie" , 67, of Culpeper Virginia was called home to be with the Lord February 15th 2024. He was born in Brandy Station on May 20th 1956 to Pauline Lucy Carter Smith and George E. Smith Sr.
Boogie was baptized at a young age and grew to love the Lord. He became an active member of Shiloh Church in Brandy Station, VA. He spent his entire work life in the paving business. Starting off with John Stanley, then Virginia Paving, and finally he found his home with Superior Paving, where he worked for 20+ years. We could not get him to retire. Boogie loved to sing, crack jokes, and loved to have a good time. He didn't need a crowd, he would party by himself. Boogie loved the Dallas Cowboys and made sure everyone he met knew it. He lovingly gave nicknames to most people he came across.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Pauline and George Smith.
Boogie leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Angela Richards, who he lovingly called, Bubba; his aunt, Irene Carter; his mother-in-law, Romaine Kemper; his children, Christopher Clarke, Kendrea Banks, Ralisha Banks, Leticia Banks-Newman (Latosha), and BJ (his Presa Canario); four sisters, Shirley Webster, Yvonne Hoffman, Sylvia Moore (Robert), and Angela Smith Bey; two sister-in-laws, Phyllis Long and Dorothea Johnson (John); eight grandchildren, Temaje', Keymari, Khamani, Milani, Khaseem, Khaniya, Charles, and Rejaun, 24 nieces and nephews; and a host of other cousins, friends and family members.
Boogie also leaves behind Erica Davis and Joseph Edwards, who he was a father figure too, and his close friends, Damon White, Robert Moore, Tony Kittrell, Andrew Akers, Shantorria Robinson, Larry Williams, and George Robinson Sr. (Puss).
Boogie touched the lives of everyone he met, whether it was just a smile, joke, or a simple hello. Boogie will be truly missed by everyone he impacted whether it was big or small.
