Geneva Taylor Jenkins' Obituary
Geneva Taylor Jenkins, 79, of Reva died on Monday, May 04, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1930 in Stanley, VA to the late Cecil and Tilda Taylor.
Geneva worked at Cold Storage in Rappahannock for 11 years. She loved working with flowers, spending time with family and playing with great grandkids. Outdoors is where she loved to be. She always loved cooking and her dog, Poochie.
She is survived by her children, Dee Dee Morgan and her husband, Curtis of Madison, Carroll “J.R.” Jenkins of Culpeper, James “Dickie” Jenkins and his wife, Cindy of Castleton, Henry “Donnie” Jenkins and his wife, Debbie of Madison and Sharon “Sissy” Jenkins and her husband, Raymond of Reva.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Mike Creel, Dwayne Wharton, Christy Preston, Amy Hawley, Phillip Wharton, Stacy Dodson, Danny Morgan, Timmy Wharton, Angie Geer and D.J. Jenkins, her great grandchildren, Michael Fincham, Bubba Wharton, Kaitlyn Hawley, Destiny Myers, lil Wayne Wharton, Brandon Morgan, Dustin Cone, Noah Wharton, Haylee Morgan, Brooke Wharton, Elizabeth Dodson, Jeremiah Wharton, Austin Greer, Dylan Pelkey, Maeleigh Dodson, Emma Geer, Bryant Wharton and Shawn Wayne, her brothers, Richard Taylor of TN, Roger Taylor of Madison, Pete Taylor of Luray and Elwood Taylor of Wheaton, MD and her sisters, Fran Taylor of Frederick, MD and Betty White of Windfer, MD.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Davis Jenkins, three children, Joyce Wharton, Ronnie “Bootie” Jenkins, and Irvin “Pookie” Jenkins, one grandchild, Davis “J.J.” Jenkins and seven brothers, Cecil, Ronald, Alfred, Woody, Reubin, Bobby and Jimmy Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Mullins and Rev. John Burke officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Creel, Dwayne Wharton, Phillip Wharton, Timmy Wharton, Danny Morgan, D.J. Jenkins and Lee Hawley.
