Geneva Frances Burke
Geneva Frances Burke, 80, of Woodville died Monday, April 26, 2010 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born August 14, 1929 in Rock Mills, VA to the late Oscar Thomas and Josie Corbin Wharton.
Mrs. Burke was a member of Thornton Gap Regular Baptist Church. She ran the Sperryville Flea Market with her husband for many years, was a great cook and enjoyed having her friends and neighbors come by to visit and eat. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Robert Marshall Burke, her son, Jerry Wayne Burke of Woodville, three siblings, Lilly Mae Johnson of Woodville, James Wharton of Flint Hill, Jessie Wharton of Culpeper, two nephews, Charles Johnson and Albert Wharton and one niece, Lisa Dodson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Haywood and Henry Wharton and one nephew, Robert Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kirby Shenk and Rev. John Burke officiating.
Interment will be held in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Norman, Albert Wharton, Jessie Wharton, Charlie Johnson, Richard Burke and Dickie Burke.
