Gary Murphy, Sr.'s Obituary
Gary Murphy, Sr., 59, of Amissville died Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born July 19, 1953 in Alexandria to the late Thurman and Aleene Young Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Beverly Farm Hunt Club and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He worked for Harold Leff Contracting for nearly 30 years. Mr. Murphy loved spending time with his family, cooking, and attending his niece’s nephew’s ballgames.
He is survived by three children, Gary Murphy, Jr., Ryan Barker and Angela Barker, one grandchild, Presley Grace Murphy, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Patsy, Ronnie, Joyce and Carolyn.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Nancy Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
