Gary Wayne Folden's Obituary
Gary Wayne Folden, 63, of Bumpass passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home after a long illness.
Gary was born July 6, 1952 in Mullens, West Virginia to the late Earl Folden and Ruby Virginia (McKinney) Folden.
Gary was a graduate of Herndon High School. He was first a coal miner and later worked in the cable industry for 34 years starting at Farley’s Cable in Mullens. Gary moved to the Fredericksburg area to work at Prestige Cable in 1986, followed by Adelphia, and was most recently employed by Comcast.
Gary built up a large group of dear friends over the last 29 years working in the local area. He was always on the hunt for a good deal and was a “picker” before it became popular. In his free time, he could be found at the flea market or out on his boat trying to catch “Walter”.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra; two daughters, Trista Coon and husband, Kenny, and Miranda Folden and Adam Embrey; son, Dustin Folden; three grandchildren, Alexander House, Jacob House, and Hunter Folden; sister, Earline Gillenwater and husband, David; sisters-in-law, Susan Folden, Jeanne Akers, Betty Folden, Patricia Belcher and Pamela Cain and husband, Gary; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gregory Eugene, William Edward, David Arnold, and Van Nelson Folden.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
