Gary H. Eddy's Obituary
Gary H. Eddy, 70, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1944 in Oneida, NY to the late Clarence and Marie Burleigh Eddy.
Gary was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Navy for 4 years and then earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science (Cum Laude) in Construction Management Technology from NOVA Community College. He worked as Code Compliance Supervisor for Prince William County which required him to obtain various national certificates. Gary was a member of Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and the Moose International. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his big smile, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Ann Alberding Eddy; three children, Susan Berry of Pikesville, MD, David Eddy of Manassas, VA and Kristen Reynolds and her husband, Andrew of Manassas, VA; and one grandchild, Matthew Eddy of Pikesville, MD.
The family will hold a graveside memorial service on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1 pm at Culpeper National Cemetery, 502 E. Chandler St., Culpeper, VA, with Johnny Wilson Chaplain of Culpeper American Legion Post 330.
Military honors to be provided by Culpeper V.F.W post 2425.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Culpeper American Legion Post 330, PO Box 122, Culpeper, VA 22701.
