Gary L. Dickey's Obituary
Gary L. Dickey, 79, of Amissville, VA died Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1936 in Nekoosa, WI to the late Clarence and Nettie Wright Dickey.
Mr. Dickey was a graduate of the Navy School of Music. He was 1st Chair French Horn at U. Wisconsin, Madison, and U. Maryland and was in the Admirals Band at Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Mr. Dickey was Vice President of several large data com firms before starting his own firm in 1996, Global Networx. He loved to read cowboy and spy books.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Marlene Dickey; two daughters , Michele E. Frye Clark and her husband, Michael of Amissville, and Rebekah L. Stubbs and her husband, David of Culpeper; one brother, William Dickey of Nekoosa, WI; and eight grandchildren, Michael Stubbs of Culpeper, Lauren Frye of Portales, NM, Bradlee Frye of Amissville, Heather Stubbs of Culpeper, Sara Frye of Amissville, Meghan Stubbs of Culpeper, Colby Frye of Amissville and Zachary Dayton of Amissville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Ronald Dickey.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
