Garland Conrad Gentry Jr.'s Obituary
Garland Conrad Gentry, Jr., 76, of Culpeper, died peacefully Sunday, July 10, 2022 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born July 20, 1945 in Durham, NC to the late Lucy Mae and Garland Conrad Gentry, Sr.
Garland is a veteran of the US Navy serving during Vietnam. He owned a successful classic car restoration business in Fredericksburg. His passion was to restore his own antique classic cars and boats to their finest beauty. He also enjoyed a lifetime of special hunting and fishing trips to places such as Alaska and Canada, with his travel buddies, his brother, Ed Gentry, and friends, Paul Walther, Mark Nowaski, Terry Minnick, and Richard Sturtevant. Garland expects that his buddies will smoke good cigars and think of him on their next trip and “try to out-fish me”.
He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Leslie Frisco; and his sister-in-law, Faye Gentry.
In addition to his parents, Garland is preceded in death by his brother Edwin Gentry, Sr.; and one nephew, Eddie Gentry, Jr.
A funeral service will be held privately at Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2524.
