Gail Lynn Lohr's Obituary
Gail Lynn Lohr, 63, of Culpeper, died Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Novant Health Systems UVA Culpeper Hospital. She was born January 13, 1960 in Indiana to the late Daniel William and Nellie Lou Burns.
Gail was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Brandy Station. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. Gail was a simple woman who loved life. She was always happy and enjoyed dancing. She changed Melvin’s life when they were married in 1994.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Melvin; her children, Eli Edward Walkup, Jr., Billy Lee Walkup, and Barbara Gail Gates (Kelly); one daughter-in-law, Christine Faye Walkup; seven grandchildren, Christana Cheyenne Walkup, Vanessa Nicole Walkup, William Theman, Austin Kennedy, Charles William Smoot III, Dustin Paul Smoot, and Kendra Nyree Gates; one great granddaughter, Wynter Rose Franks; two brothers, Timothy Allen Church (Debbie) and Joseph Sanford Burns (Laraine); three sisters, Joyce Ann Packette (Charles), Effie Irene Burns Mcguire Miller (Francis M.), and Betty Lou McClung (Michael G.); and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel William Burns, Jr., Matthew Darrell Burns, James Franklin Burns; and two sisters, Alberta Sue Shaffer and Verney Ilene Mcguire.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Bruce Fincham officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
