Fred O. Smith's Obituary
Fred O. Smith, 76 of Annandale and Elkwood, died on Monday, January 5, 2009 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1932 in Elkwood, VA to the late Tom and Helen Smith.
Fred was a master craftsman and cabinet maker. He was employed by Crestwood Construction Corp. and Manassas Lumber Corp. His latest passion was time spent with his grandchildren and he will be missed dearly. He made everyone he knew laugh and smile.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virginia Maddox Smith, his son, Thomas M. Smith and his wife, Stephanie of Leesburg, his daughter, Terri Highfill and her husband, Rick of Marion, OH, and four grandchildren, Lucas Smith, Benjamin Highfill, Rebecca Highfill, and Lydia Highfill.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Berry officiating.
Interment will follow in Elkwood Cemetery.
