Frederick Joseph Compy's Obituary
Frederick Joseph Compy, 77, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born October 4, 1938 in Norwich, NY to the late Elvin Zeno Walter Compy and Monica Ann Compy.
After serving in the United States Air Force; Fred graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in business.
He was an avid reader, fencer, world traveler and collector of hats.
Fred is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anita Compy; two sons, Jason Compy and wife, Sabina and Matthew Compy and wife, Heather; two daughters, Shannon Compy-Crow and husband, Greg and Meghan Compy; seven grandchildren, Khalima, Yassmina, Easton, Lila, Kain, Trent, and Levi; sister, Elizabeth Ann Brown; and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Elvin Matthew Compy; and an infant brother.
Fred’s family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 East Edmondson Street, Culpeper. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Culpeper National Cemetery, 502 East Chandler Street, Culpeper.
