Fred Earle Van Doren's Obituary
Fred Earle Van Doren, Jr., 86, of Boston died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Evergreen Nursing Home in Stanardsville. He was born February 18, 1926 in Sommerville, NJ to the late Fred and Lydia Porter Van Doren.
Mr. Van Doren has lived in the area since 1956 having moved from New Jersey. He owned and operated New Haven Dairy in Inlet for 20 years and was also an owner and operator with Payne Trucking in Virginia and Interstate Transport in Gainesville, GA until his retirement in 1988. He loved to read and tend to his garden. Mr. Van Doren enjoyed keeping busy and helping those that needed it. He will be best remembered by his family as someone who never complained and cherished life.
He is survived by his son, John Van Doren of Fort Hancock, TX and two grandchildren, Tonya Marie Locke Howe of Washington DC and Nathaniel Earle Howe of Bealeton and one sister Dorothy Gertrude Housel of Ringoes, New Jersey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Weibel Van Doren; two daughters, Lydia Ann Van Doren and Ellen Lynn Cottrell; and one son, Frank Martin Van Doren; and one brother, Ab Van Doren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
