Fred Dean Sisk of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was 82 years old. Born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee he was a 1958 graduate of Science Hill High School. He Read Obituary
I was shocked & saddened to learn of Fred's death. I usually only saw him once a year at our Civil War Conferences but he was a regular & we chatted, joked & hung out every October, catching up. On the battlefield tours & bus trips, we were often walking buddies, sharing a laugh or a complaint. He was a joy to be around. I missed him this year & will continue to do so from now on. My sincere condolences go out to his family
I am so sorry to learn of Fred’s passing. He was such a fun friend and family member. He married my cousin, Martha Lynne and they were a loving and adventurous couple. Even though we were separated by miles we stayed in touch over the years. I loved getting their Christmas cards with letters sharing their travels each year. After Martha Lynne’s death in 2020, Fred and I stayed in touch with a long phone call last Christmas. I will always cherish my memories of Fred and Martha.
I served with Fred at DMS from 1981 to 1985. We had alot of laughs and fun and he is remembered and will be missed.
