Frank William Beam's Obituary
Frank William Beam, 87, of Culpeper, formerly of Arlington died on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his caregiver’s residence. He was born on August 8, 1923 in Queens, NY to the late Frank and Bernice Rittmier Beam.
Mr. Beam served his country in the United States Army and worked as an auditor for the Department of Defense from 1946 to 1967. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Arlington, VA and before his illness attended mass every day. He enjoyed taking walks, reading the newspaper and his Washington Redskins.
He is survived by his two cousins, Ethel Gravely and Robert Phillips both of New York, his caregivers, Florence Miles of Culpeper, Melva Jackson of Maryland, Joanne Mack of Culpeper and their families and his sister in law, Mary Edmiston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margarite Beam and his brother-in-law, William Shovlin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A Christian Wake Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Father Leo Zonneveld officiating.
A private interment will be held in Columbia Gardens Memorials in Arlington on Monday, January 25, 2010.
Pallbearers will be David Mack, James Mack, Wayne Miles, James Alexander, Johnny Brown and Dwayne Nixon.
