Frank Anthony Bianchi, 78, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rhoda; four daughters, Cynthia Cobb and her husband, Bill and Cla Read Obituary

I will never forget bringing Frank to visit the Korean War Memorial many years ago. In his excitment Frank walked over the little metal railing so he get a closer look at the bronze soldier. I took a picture of Frank inside the railed off area looking up at one of the figures. His eyes said it all. Unfortunately, the eyes of a Park Ranger said something else as he walked towards us to remind Frank to stay outside the railing. All of this was captured in a one of lifes priceless photographs. I'll treasure that photo, and the time I shared with Frank forever. My wife, herself a veteran, thought we should make a donation to the Korean War National Museum in lieu of flowers. I love that idea and I think Frank would too.

My Day has know Frankie since they were kids. They grew up in down town New York and have remained friends for all of these years. I have great memories of Frankie and remember that I always laughed when he was around. He was funny and a very sweet guy. My condolences to his children and to his family. What a Heavenly reunion it is , as Frank re-connects with his parents, Elena and Amedeo, and sister Mary, and other family members!
While I did ot see Frank frequently, we were in touch by phone and cards. In those contacts, he was always upbeat, warm nd loving. He very much mourned the death of my brother, Angelo, in April of 2010. They had even been able to meet during their militray service.
While he came to this country, from Italy, as a child, he was always so proud to be an American and to have served this country during the Korean Conflict.
